This concept of “THE REAL WORLD” has been forcing me to seriously consider the choices and consequences that either detain or sustain me. Since the beginning of time I have been warned “THE REAL WORLD” is sneaking up on me faster than love handles and prune juice cravings.
I always kinda interpreted “ THE REAL WORLD” as being college. Because if you haven’t heard, let me be the first to testify that living on top ramen for a month is about as real as it gets.
Apparently I thought wrong. In college all I ever hear about is what to expect in “THE REAL WORLD”
“Jessica do you really think in THE REAL WORLD you can just show up whenever you want”
No but apparently in this Keanu free Matrix like reality I have been living in its okay? Basically, what I am concerned about is this fake existence I have been hanging out in for the last twenty years. What makes it so fake? Do you not have to pay tuition in fake world? Or clean your apartment, or do laundry? If so I want to transfer.
I am constantly hearing about how I don’t live in the moment, how I don’t slow down and acknowledge life happening around me often enough. Can you really blame me when I am constantly being informed of the fakeness of my existence, it seems a little hypocritical for my life to be fake and meaningful at the same time.
And PS, if the real world is so lame why doesn’t anyone ever say “ Jessica, a three piece suit again, do you think in THE FAKE WORLD you can just dress like Hillary Clinton every day.”
It would seem to this unbiased observer that everyone has got it all wrong, and that fake world is the place to be, and that everyone should just get over this whole “REAL WORLD” obsession which should have gone down with its television name sake in trashy MTV history.
Yay u have a blog!!
